Hello everyone,

Due to the weather, we have decided to cancel cadets for tonight 8 Feb 18. Tonights training will be moved to next Thursday.

Monday 12 Feb will be drill team practice. All cadets are invited to tryout for drill team. All marksmanship cadets that want to be on the drill team also should come out.

Drive safe out there!

Northwest Cadets
#NWCadets, Would you like the opportunity to tell the story as a Cadet Correspondent at a Cadet Training Centre (CTC) during the summer or in your Area/Zone during the training year?

Cadet Correspondents help tell the story of the Cadet Program by writing articles, taking photos and making videos. This provides and captures the cadet's perspective on the cadet program.

🔉CTC Staff Cadet Correspondent:

This year, CTC Staff Cadet Correspondents will be pre-selected and trained prior to the summer. Applicants should have experience in photography, videography, social media and writing. CTC Staff Cadet Correspondents assist Unit Public Affairs Representatives (UPARs) to provide Public Affairs support during the summer. Applicants for a CTC Staff Cadet Correspondent position will also be considered for a Zone Cadet Correspondent position.

☑️How to apply to be a CTC Staff Cadet Correspondent: (Deadline 10 Feb 2018)

▪️Step 1. Submit an application in Fortress through your Corps/Squadron as a Staff Cadet at a CTC (Northwest Region only) with the position preference as "Cadet Correspondent". This is a requirement prior to moving on to step two. (Applicants must meet Staff Cadet Prerequisites as per “CATO 13-28 – Advanced Training – Staff Cadets”)
Note* if you’ve already submitted a application in fortress as a staff cadet not indicating “cadet Correspondent” you may still apply following the steps below.

▪️Step 2. Submit a Video Resume stating who you are and experience in the cadet program as well as Writing/Photo/Video.

▪️Step 3. Submit 2 pictures with a story attached to each picture (minimum one paragraph). Each photo must be taken by you and can be a person, animal, object or place. Photos may be taken with a smartphone and the story should match the image depicted.

▪️Step 4. Upload files to a cloud storage service (Dropbox, Google Drive, Box.net, OneDrive etc.)

▪️Step 5. Send us an email to "NorthwestPublicAffairs@Forces.gc.ca".
Include "CTC Staff Cadet Correspondent" in subject line as well as a Cover letter in the body of the email with the link to the cloud service storage location.

🔉Zone Cadet Correspondents:

During the training year, Cadet Correspondents provide Public Affairs support to local activities and assist the RCSU Northwest Public Affairs team. Applicants should have experience in photography, videography, social media and writing skills.
This submission process is not for a CTC Staff Cadet Correspondent.

☑️How to apply to be a Zone Cadet Correspondent (not at a CTC):

▪️Step 1. Hold the minimum rank of PO2/SGT at your Corps/Squadron and be in your 3rd year as a cadet.

▪️Step 2. Submit a Video Resume stating who you are and experience in the cadet program as well as Writing/Photo/Video.
Video may be taken with a smartphone/computer and should have some basic editing to highlight your skills.

Include "Zone Cadet Correspondent" in subject line as well as a Cover letter in the body of the email with the link to the cloud service storage location.
